IP Evaluation & Development
IP Asset Management’s consultants have many years experience in the evaluation and development of IP in the following areas:
PATENTS:
We have access to highly sophisticated search tools and the expertise to use these tools to enable easy visualisation of the context of clients’ patents, identify other parties active in relevant areas of technology and form preliminary estimates of the likely scope for filing commercially significant new patent applications
OTHER IP:
The commercial value of non-patent IP (know-how, in particular) is frequently overlooked or dismissed as insignificant, although it can often be vital to a company’s success or even survival. Our consultants have the skills, experience and understanding to identify critical know-how and other intellectual assets and can advise on means to ensure they are appropriately preserved and protected.
COMMERCIAL:
The costs of acquiring and maintaining patents can be very significant, and may be difficult to justify even when the patents in question play an important role in protecting a core activity or market share.
Many companies cannot spare the resources or do not have the in-house skills required to generate value from these assets by strategic licensing of “core” patents or the sale or trade of those accumulated patents which are no longer central to the business.
IP Asset Management can deploy the skills of its consultants to identify and implement any commercial opportunities potentially capable of releasing significant additional income from its clients’ existing patents.
LEGAL:
We work with our associated legal experts to structure commercial deals aimed at minimising clients’ commercial risk and legal liabilities whilst maximising profits.
DEVELOPMENT:
We will help clients to create and develop their IP position so as to enhance and protect their market share, improve their attractiveness to investors and help ensure their future commercial success.
